Highlights: Longtime Prosper Volunteer Receives State Award. One of Only 15 Honorees.

Prosper ISD is proud to announce that district volunteer Jill Beitel has received the 2022 Heroes for Children award for the State Board of Education (SBOE) District 12.

Ms. Beitel receiving awardMs. Beitel was one of only 15 awardees throughout the state who received recognition at the SBOE general meeting on September 2, 2022 for her outstanding service and support provided to Prosper ISD students, staff, and the greater school community.

The annual award is designed to recognize excellence in advocacy for education and to highlight the many outstanding volunteers whose efforts represent significant contributions to public school education in Texas.

“For the last 11 years, Jill has given hundreds, if not thousands, of hours serving Prosper ISD and the Town of Prosper. She does it all working in the background, seeking no recognition or commendation. She is a selfless servant leader committed to serving everyone with whom she crosses paths,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Holly Ferguson.

Ms. Beitel and her family moved to Prosper in 2011, and she immediately began her positive impact on the district. She has served the district at five different campuses, specifically chairing clubs and organizations, leading as a room mom and PTO Officer, and promoting teachers and opportunities for students at every turn.  She was a crucial component in the development of the district’s Strategic Plan, serving on the planning committee. Most recently, she serves on the Prosper Education Foundation Board of Directors.

“It is important to me to plant a seed for my three boys as well as other children by modeling the importance of community service, gratitude, and empathy in our daily lives and actions,” said Ms Beitel.

Prosper ISD has a long history of parent involvement in  and community support of  our school district. Jill Beitel is an outstanding example of all the volunteers who are in the work with our teachers and staff to ensure an outstanding experience for all the children in our schools.
