Gifted and Talented (GT) Referrals for Students in Grades 1st – 11th (who are not already identified)
Deadline March 23rd
The Prosper ISD GT program is designed to provide motivating, challenging experiences that will nurture the unique academic and social-emotional needs of gifted and talented students. Students whose data indicate the advanced program services are the most appropriate educational setting will be recommended for the gifted and talented program.
Students who are already identified and participating in our Prosper ISD Gifted and Talented program do not need to be referred. They will continue to receive GT services.
Students may be referred once every two years. If your child was not referred last year and you would like to refer him/her for GT placement consideration, the referral window for students in grades 1st – 11th is March 3 – 23rd. Referrals must be completed through Infosnap. The link will be live beginning on March 3rd and will be posted on the Gifted and Talented referral webpage: http://sww.prosper-isd.net/Page/13671
Referrals must be completed by Thursday, March 23 at 3:00pm. Late referrals are not accepted.

Rogers and Reynolds will be hosting a 5th moving to 6th grade Parent/Course Information Night from 6:00-6:45 pm. Following this meeting will be an Elective Expo from 6:45-7:30 pm where students will be able to learn more about the elective offerings at Rogers and Reynolds in grades 6th-8th for the 2017-2018 school year. The 3rd Annual Prosper Eagle 5K and Fun Run will take place on Saturday, March 18th, 2017, at Rogers Middle School in Prosper, TX. Come out and join in on the fun. Click here if you are interested in participating or would like more information. The cost of the registration will include a t-shirt and chip timer for those participating in the 5k race.
All funds raised from both events will go towards the Rogers' PTO. In addition, there will also be an Eagle Marketplace going on during this time. Click here if you have a business or organization that would like to have a booth.

Elementary Students compete at District UIL Competition
Congratulations to the 390 students from across the District that competed in this year's District UIL competition. Each of the students represented their campus well as they competed in one of many categories available to each grade level.
Congratulations to Svaksha Iyengar, Erin Heidrick, and Alexis Vu on being awarded National Merit Finalists.
Eagle Wrestlers 3rd at Districts – Advance 13 to Regionals!
The PHS Wrestling Teams competed at the District 8-5A Tournament this past weekend at Prosper High School. Both the men’s and women’s teams placed 3rd overall out of 12 schools. The Eagles crowned 4 district champions: Alyssa Alvarez, Tommy Flaherty, James Wujek, and Tristan Baugher. Other placers for the men’s team were Kevin Jackson (3rd), Caden Mills (3rd), Igor Costa (4th), Caleb Redman (4th), Alex Varela (5th), Christian Centrella (6th) and Rylan Bonds (6th). Other placers for the women’s team were Cristiana Williams (2nd), Alyssa Hall (2nd), Larissa Flores (3rd), JJ Baugher (3rd), and CeCe Adams (4th). The Regional qualifiers will be in action this Friday and Saturday at Wakeland High School. Wrestling starts at 9:30 am on both days.
PHS Anglers Finish 2nd at Lake Texoma
Prosper anglers, Cole Turner and Kiel Couturier, finished 2nd out of 365 teams this past weekend at Lake Texoma. They weighed in their highest bag ever—17.46 lbs. One of Cole Turner’s bass, weighing 5.22 lbs., was the second largest fish weighed in. This team is now ranked 5th out of 345 teams in the Texas High School Bass Association’s West division. They have one more tournament, Lake Whitney, before heading to the Regional Championship. Turner and Couturier have won almost $2,000 in college scholarships for their competitive fishing efforts.

Kids Prosper Kids is a non-profit that began as a desire in Prosper students’ hearts to go beyond their city limits and provide education and relief to vulnerable children around the world. After our community raised $20,000 in just 4 weeks for Prosper Primary in Yeji, Ghana, students decided they wanted to do more! Join KPK and their mission to build, operate and sustain Prosper Life Academy in Kumasi, Ghana, a private school serving at-risk children, as well as previously trafficked children in West Africa. It's Time Texas Community Challenge
Prosper reigns as the 2016 champion of the IT’S TIME TEXAS Community Challenge, a 12-week statewide competition.
Let's join together with the Town of Prosper to bring home the trophy, the bragging rights and $1,800 for PISD.
Follow these steps to join Mayor Smith and Team Prosper! Step 1: Register for the It's Time Texas Community Challenge on (or after) January 9th to earn 1,000 points. Click here to register.
