Eagle Express - February 10th

Facebook Like Twitter
Thank You to Mr. Wright for five years of dedicated service to the students and families of Prosper. The PHS campus culture is truly second to none and the envy of high schools across the state. PHS “rumbled” its way to many firsts during your tenure that will not be soon forgotten. We sincerely thank you and wish you all the best in your retirement back to East Texas.

PHS Art Students Advance to State

Saturday, February 4, Prosper High School took 177 artworks to compete in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event, also known as VASE. The mission of the TAEA Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) is to recognize exemplary student achievement in the Visual Arts by providing art students and programs a standard of excellence in which to achieve. Events are divided into TEA regions. Prosper is in Region 10, which is so large that it is divided into sub-regions. The region 10N event took place at Independence High School in Frisco ISD. Works are divided into four divisions based on the artistic experience of the artist. Artists only compete against other artists in the same division. Over 26,000 students in Texas participate in VASE each year.

Nine of our Prosper ISD students will be representing Region 10N at the state competition in April. Those students are Roberta Garst, Melea Hankey, Diem-Tho Le, Aubrey McCurry, Jack Robnett, Bethany Schroeder, Kealan Watson, under the direction of Judy Seay and Madison Woodard, Megan Petroskey under the direction of Gina Mock.

GhanaProsper ~ Prosper Primary School

Our Prosper Village is uniting with the Village of Achiavekope in Ghana Africa that in 50 years has never had a school, clean water, or electricity.

Our community has graciously jumped on board to build “Prosper Primary School”, two water wells, apartments for the teachers and staff and provide solar panels so the school and village can have electricity. We have already raised over $20,000 and have committed to help them “prosper” by providing these basic necessities to help empower their village.

Come hear all about the Ghana Prosper Primary school at one of the Community Information Meetings. There will also be an opportunity to lend your support by attending the Color Splash Run on April 1st.
