District of Innovation

House Bill 1842, passed during the 84th Legislative Session, provides the opportunity for Texas public school districts to pursue the designation of District of Innovation. This allows local school districts to obtain exemptions from certain provisions of the Texas Education Code to allow more flexibility and local control for innovative programming. On June 20, 2016, Prosper Independent School District’s Board of Trustees passed a resolution to initiate the process of designation as a District of Innovation (DOI) in order to increase local control over District operations and to support innovation and local initiatives to improve the educational opportunities for the benefit of students, staff, and the community.

16 Reynolds MS Band Students Made All-Region Band

The Reynolds MS Band program would like to take an opportunity to celebrate some of our students! On November 12th and 15th, we sent several musicians to represent our campus at the Region 24 All-Region Audition competition. Our Region is comprised of musicians from 32 different middle schools that encompass Frisco ISD, Little Elm ISD, Plano ISD, and Prosper ISD. Our students worked diligently this semester to prepare for this competition.

Making the All-Region Band is the highest honor a middle school musician in the state of Texas can achieve. Students who earn a place in this all-star group will come together for a few hours of rehearsal, and prepare a concert that will take place on Saturday, January 7th at Lone Star High School in Frisco.  I am beyond proud to tell you that Reynolds Middle School had 16 incredible musicians earn a coveted spot in this year's All-Region Band!! This number accounts for 33% of the number of students we sent to the competition. That is up from 24% in 2015, and 21% in 2014. This is a tremendous testament to our students' work ethic and commitment to excellence! Please help me in recognizing and congratulating this year's All-Region musicians:

Camp, Ransom - 3rd chair Honors Band
